Thrilled that we saw our first Sandhill Cranes back in Wisconsin this past weekend. My husband and I took a nice drive on Sunday to see what we could see. This pair of cranes were down in North Shore Bay, on the north side of Lake Mendota. We later saw many Bald Eagles up around the open water of Lake Wisconsin and plenty of ducks. It was a good day. Now, if only we could get rid of all this snow and really cold weather I’d be one happy camper. Anyway, welcome home crane families!!

Maybe those cranes are looking for Jimmy the Groundhog!

Maybe to peck him for screwing up the “early spring” prediction.
