Fall migration starting??

I believe a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet

This is letting me know that Fall is right around the corner. Our little friends are appearing in the backyard telling me they are starting to think about heading South. Fall coloring on the birds makes it hard for me to tell what they are, but I still love seeing these little birds. I’ve later found out that this little bird is a Chestnut-sided Warbler, NOT a Ruby-crowned kinglet.

It’s no bull….It’s Red Bull!

While on Madeline Island we saw this “Red Bull” sea plane take off after a beautiful sunny day just anchored off of the beach.

Birds, Bees and Butterflies??

Tiger Swallow

While on one of my walks up to “the hill” I found this beautiful Tiger Swallow getting nector from the flowering plants. The gardens are alive now with the bees and butterflies.

Soaring over Birchwood

Saw this beautiful Osprey soaring over the lake in Birchwood. So many different types of wildlife to be seen up North. I was a very happy camper.

Crazy for Loons

Loons at Birchwood

It was a perfect morning out on the lake at Birchwood and saw so many Loons. Fun watching them land and wonderful to hear there “call” which is music to my ears.

Great Blue Heron

Great Blue Heron

My son-in-law took me on an early morning boat ride up in Birchwood, Wisconsin and I was able to capture this beautiful Great Blue Heron. What a perfect morning…..thanks Matt.

Me thinks he likes my bejeweled feeder

Baltimore Oriole

This feeder was a gift from my friend Marilyn and I’m not sure if it’s the “bejewels” or the jelly that attracts the orioles……….whatever brings them, I love it and so do my birdies.

It’s a fungus amoung us..

Casper the friendly ghost

Not exactly sure what this is, but it seems like a type of fungus which I found growing next to my pot I planted cucumbers in….It sure looked like a ghost to me, wouldn’t you agree?
