White-throated Sparrow

White-throated sparrow

This is a pretty sparrow and easily identified by it’s distinct white throat and the yellow strip by the beak and eyes.  Not all sparrows are dull looking and this is one that shows how attractive they can be.

    Yay, my favorite bird.

Do any white-throated sparrows stay through the summer near you?

Not really Anita. They tend to go through and then I’ll see them again in the Fall. They tend to travel with the Dark-eyed Juncos. You just never know when one will show up out of the blue. I’ll keep you posted.

That’s a very handsome bird- my attempts to photograph them so far have been thwarted by bushes…
