Sunrise on Lake Huron

On our annual visit to Mackinac Island, I was able to capture this beautiful sunrise. One of the many things we enjoy while visiting on the Great Lakes is seeing all of the freighters.  How lucky was I when this freighter was moving through when the sun was coming up.

Keeping Warm

Now that the weather is cooling off the squirrels are finding ways to keep warm. I thought this little squirrel was pretty funny rustling around all these pine needles. They always make for a good photo.

Immature White-crowned Sparrow

One thing about the fall migration is seeing all of the juvenile birds that are flying through. Next Spring I will see them when they have fully matured into their adult plumage. This immature White-crowned Sparrow is one of the prettiest sparrows, in my opinion. I look forward to seeing that bright white crown they sport next Spring and Summer when they come back to visit our yard.
