Eastern Phoebe

Eastern Phoebe

I sure enjoy this beautiful bird that comes to perch on branches and feeder poles near our pond. They are so quick at getting insects and one of their favorite spots to eat seems to be over the pond. I’m glad we can supply the insects they so love to eat. I’m glad they choose to stick around our area during breeding season.

And this bird is welcome to eat all of the mosquitoes it wants, I’m sure!

We have a pair of phoebes and a pair of bluebirds nesting on our front porch. They have regular turf wars from nesting in such close proximity to each other, but don’t seem any the worse for it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your lucky to have a neat pair of birds nesting so close that you can watch all of the action. We have a turf war of House Wrens and a male House sparrow. I don’t know why the House Sparrow thinks he can raise a family in the wren house. He barely makes it through the hole. The Wrens aren’t giving up though, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
